The Guyana Mission Network is an effort on the part of a number of Guyanese, former missionaries to Guyana and others who seek ways of providing support for the ministry and mission of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Guyana.

ELCG Guyana Mission
Support

In 2010 the Guyana Mission Network received $10,000. With these gifts, thanks to our contributors, we have been able to accomplish the following:

• sent gifts at Christmas of $150.00 to every pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Guyana.

• provided 20 copies of the Lutheran Pastoral Occasional Services, 20 copies of the Lutheran Book of Concord and other study books for pastors and lay leaders in the ELCG seeking to improve their skills in preaching and Bible study leadership.

• 100 Good News Bibles and30 Spark Story Bibles for Children were carried or sent to Guyana for the use of the Christian Education Department of the ELCG. We are the only source for these Bibles in Guyana. (Seminarians from Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa carried many of them when they went for the January study terms. Pastor Winston Persaud also carried Bibles when he made his annual trek to Guyana In July 2010.)

• purchased and configured a set of computers for a new computer lab in the St. Andrew Parish.

• sent $220 to undergird the ELCG Youth Camp held in August, 2010

• provided funds to repair damaged hymnals for the ELCG

• gathered and duplicated photographs, filmstrips and documents about the Lutheran Church in Guyana, especially from the 1960s
